SPECIFIC AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

To raise awareness/profile of teaching as a career particularly amongst black and minority ethnic communities by using the web site as a vehicle to enhance recruitment and retention of members from diverse backgrounds into the teaching profession. (to include case studies)

To provide an interactive means to facilitate networking amongst black and minority ethnic teachers, members of the community, governors and educationalists

To create appropriate links for raising awareness about providers on initial teacher training (ITT) and in turn, supply such institutions with information about issues faced by black and minority ethnic members regarding training, recruitment and employment

To increase awareness of the existing range of relevant support networks and services available to teachers and to support the induction period of newly qualified teachers (including resources and classroom strategies)

Through the on-line journal, provide a platform for publishing and sharing good practice and resources.
